I am afraid that Croton's days as a " sleepy little village " are a thing of the past and have been for some time. Being just 40 miles from NYC is great if one desires top notch entertainment on Broadway, etc. but not so great if one desires to be isolated from the cesspool of crime and lawlessness that NYC has become.

Although I don’t know of any connections to Croton he may have, I would venture to say you’re correct. Croton is (at least up until now) been a sleepy, little village; not really on most people’s radar. For him to trek back not once, not twice, not three times BUT four times to steal is not only concerning but indicative that there is likely more than meets the eye. Do you know the dates of the alleged larceny?

So far Croton authorities are being tight-lipped about these cases so we don’t know when the alleged offenses took place and whether they were at the same time or on different occasions. Generally the village and the police do not release such information during an ongoing investigation. But we will try to get more details and report them when possible. I should add that villagers might want to ask village officials about this as well, given that the allegations in New Rochelle, if true, involve considerable violence against property.

I have actually just written to Village Manager Bryan Healy and asked him to provide more details about these cases, given the danger to the security of the village that this individual could represent if the charges are found to be true.
