Update on Croton-Harmon schools facilities construction and renovation.
District voters approved $45.5 million in capital projects in December 2022. School officials issued a progress report to staff last week.
In December 2022, Croton-Harmon school district voters approved a $45.5 million Future Facilities Capital Project by a vote of 808 to 215. The project envisioned a massive suite of renovations and new construction at all three district schools, as well as at Spencer Field. Last week, Brad Kennedy, Director of Facilities for the district, sent staff an update on both the ongoing work as well as that planned for the February and April breaks. There are a lot of interesting details, including a note that the long-awaited installation of air conditioning in the kindergarten wing of the Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School will begin in April.
Here is the complete text of Kennedy’s memo:
Dear Tigers,

Is this project on budget?

I recognize that this was addressed to faculty and staff since the construction can pose to be nuisance, but there is no mention of the turf field. Have you heard anything about that and it's progress? Truly hope it'll be done for soccer season this fall. If not, then that is truly pathetic and we need to get a new contractor and someone else to negotiate contracts for us.
