I couldn't agree more Susan! Very thankful Leslie and Allison are running for the Board of Education. I have known both for many years. They have amazing ideas, will ask the tough questions, will advocate for change and bring academics back to our primary focus! Thrilled to learn this news!
Will you be interviewing the candidates? I'm curious to hear all of the candidates' views on the lawsuit that has been leveled against the Croton BofE. Do they share the concerns of the plaintiffs (who are not named)? Or would they defend the Board of Education and Croton's schools? Would they be willing to cooperate with ICE to deport immigrants, whether they are undocumented or have political opinions the Trump administration does not like?
Thanks for your question. As a first step, I have invited all of the candidates to submit statements to the Chronicle for publication. Still awaiting responses although only one so far has agreed to do it. After that, I expect to cover their campaigns closely, depending on what they do. And yes, I hope to interview them if they agree to it. But as you know, not all candidates for office, including here in Croton, are willing to have their views and positions closely examined, so we shall see. I agree that your suggested questions are very pertinent.
I should have mentioned that in my opinion, the four candidates should participate in at least one moderated debate, and one Town Hall where they agree to answer questions from parents and other residents. Again, in recent elections, this is something candidates on both sides have resisted doing.
I am extremely grateful to have Leslie Pollak and Allison Samuels running for our Board of Education. Both have been very supportive of our teachers aides and believing they deserve fair wages.
I am so happy Leslie Pollak and Allison Samuels are running for the Board of Education. The focus on academic standards is the help the children need. Finally we have candidates that will represent children and all residents.

I'm excited to see new candidates running for the Board of Education. I welcome fresh perspectives and a renewed focus on academics over ideology.

Do you seriously believe that these two women would support cooperating with ICE? I don’t think you believe that.
