Very scary and disturbing. Especially that this took place in our village.

I am really serious when I say I wish I did not have to publish this.

You really didn’t need to post these gorey details or the man’s name. Extremely irresponsible of you. He’s not part of a ring as far as we know and poses no threat to the community. All you did here was further ruin his 11 year old daughter’s life. You have to reflect on what the “community” in community news reporting really means.

I completely understand. It’s important people know what is going on their community.

I really don’t think we need to know the man’s name . He has an 11 year old in our school system who was thriving and has friends. If you’re going to write a community based newsletter, then be community minded toward our neighbors in crisis. The girl doesn’t need us to know who her father is.You are not The NY Times or News12, you should choose protecting the privacy of children in our community over not committing “journalistic malfeasance” whatever that means. I’d like to know more about the raid on the smoke store- if a local business is allegedly doing harm to residents, that is important to us. Ruining a child’s life in our community serves no purpose.

I also wish you did not because of this man's young daughter. It would be helpful to know what brought the interest of the FBI to this man. Was it part of a larger operation?

Since the Complaint in this case is a public record, and since the residents of Croton have the right to know about this arrest and who was arrested, it would be journalistic malfeasance to deliberately withhold his name. Plus, it has already been reported on News12 Westchester as a practical matter. I do not know how the FBI found out about him but they may have been investigating the network he was part of.

I was responding to your sentiment that you wish you did not have to publish this. This man's daughter had been my granddaughter's classmate and I feel bad for her. It's more accurate to say I feel sick after reading this but grateful to be made aware.
