It’s sad all the Croton seniors thought they would be likely to land one of these units. They are now sorely disappointed. Sad for our seniors who have no housing designated for them here. This would have been great for seniors. Personally though, I was very upset to see the trees and forest there clear cut and would have preferred to leave this a nice wild green space. Regardless, I do hope we see some age restricted housing in Westchester.

100%. I was talking to my friend, who lived here with his family for the first three decades of his life about all of this and what the administration has been pushing and approving and his response, “Are they crazy? People seek out and move to Croton for the open spaces and nature, not to drive around and see apartments and buildings all over. Neighboring towns (Ossining/Peekskill) offer that in spades and it’s a reason they are generally cheaper to reside in. They will ruin the town if they keep this up.”

So far I have seen little serious study of the effects of putting a 95 unit condo complex right across from the train station entrance. We will be following things closely and asking a lot of questions along the way, as should everyone.

Yes! That’s exactly right. And once more big apartment buildings are built, there is no going back. I hope residents can stop them.

I’m sorry if I missed it, but will the lottery disclose both the name and current location (city, etc) of the winners? I’d be interested to really get a feel for where all of the winners currently live. Thanks.
