It's official: Voice of Croton will be on the November 4 electoral ballot.
Working off of a significant write-in campaign last year, the contenders will challenge Croton Democrats for three key Board of Trustee seats.

Voice of Croton announced this morning that the grassroots community group will be listed on this year’s General Election ballot. The organization had little trouble gathering the requisite number of signatures, but was waiting for the signatures and its place on the ballot to be approved by election officials. That has now taken place.
The trio issued a statement to acknowledge this electoral milestone:
“We are honored and energized by the encouragement of so many friends and neighbors from all corners of Croton, and we will never take you for granted. Your ideas, goals, priorities, and concerns remain at the heart of our shared platform and would play a central role in our administration.
“Being on November’s ballot creates easier access for voters of all ages across Croton to support our grassroots mission, principles, and initiatives.
“At our core, we are running to establish a hyper-local, transparent, accountable, and responsive democracy that has been sorely missing in our Village over the past several years. In too many important instances, too many citizens have been overlooked or ignored by the same few people who have been in power too long, catering instead to external, special political interests.
“While they opt to prioritize high-density overdevelopment practices and policies that are unfit for a Village and impose serious fiscal challenges and liabilities, we’re here to work strictly for you and address a range of local community priorities and needs that they would continue to push further out of reach.
“We look forward to continuing to meet and learn more from people every day. We appreciate your input, expertise, partnership and trust as we aim to serve as your voice in Village Hall.”
Recently the Chronicle published an interview with first-time Voice of Croton candidate Stacey Nachtaler, as well as with first time Croton Democrats candidate Karen Pecora. All of the other candidates on both sides have also agreed to interviews with the Chronicle, which we will be publishing over the coming weeks.
In addition, the Chronicle has formerly asked the League of Women Voters of Northwest Westchester to schedule two candidate forums as we get closer to the election, given the complexity and number of issues facing our village. The chapter’s president, Rene Artale, has acknowledged our request and we hope to have more news about it soon.
As we have in the past two local elections, the Chronicle will continue to provide detailed coverage of the candidates and the issues going forward.

I sincerely hope that this election sticks with the true facts the residents deserve and that the name calling that occurred during the School Board Election which disgraced this Village. A wise man once told me that if the only way you can win an argument is to call your opponent names then you really have no argument. So best of luck to all the candidates who are willing to give of their time to work for what is best for Croton. P.S. That wiseman was my Dad.
