The Croton burglar will attend Mental Health Court as part of a plea deal. If he fails to complete treatment, he will be sentenced to a total of two years in county jail.

The last I heard from his attorney, the ShopRite thief was still doing well in Drug Court. So we can have hope that Liriano will find his way out of a life of crime (he has been arrested many times in the NY/NJ region.) You can put someone in jail but unless they are rehabilitated they will just offend again when they get out, no matter when it is.
