Thank you for the resolution of the 2019 student lawsuit. Many of us simply did not know what had happened.

Was the amount of the 2019 case settlement not mentioned in the budget the following year?

Well, the settlement was apparently confidential so we don’t know whether it involved money and if so how much. But if it did, it was likely paid by the state insurer and not he district directly. But if the terms of the settlement were confidential, it might be exempt from release under the New York FOIL.

You’re welcome. The Chronicle is staying on this important case like a glove on a hand, like snow on the sidewalk, like glaze on a doughnut—in other words, this is the place to keep informed about the lawsuit. We get docket alerts whenever something happens, which costs us money; taking out a paid subscription is the best way for villagers to support local journalism and make sure it continues.
