Maybe the concern about Maple Commons was that lethal weapons were used Mr. Mayor.

Pugh is a naive person. The Chronicle reports on all serious crime and yes, people will be hyper-focused when guns are involved and will post to social media, with the risk of being attacked by human BOTS on Facebook groups, falling over themselves screaming racism, while they themselves have internal anxiety over what they read. A criminal is a criminal, I personally will not shy away from expressing my opinions on people who commit crime and I’m not going to pull my punches based on the race of the offending individual.

I have to agree that the mayor is naïve if he thinks that these concerns can be dismissed with the wave of the hand.

“Mayor Brian Pugh has questioned why there supposedly has been so much public attention on arrests that involve Maple Commons”

Mayor Pugh (ran unopposed) was a huge proponent of the 100% affordable housing of Maple Commons.

I believe it was originally going to be 10% or 3 units of affordable housing.

Unfortunately, there is a correlation between crime rates and affordable housing development.

Interesting comment by our unopposed “elected” mayor.

Mayor Pugh because this was YOUR doing!

What accomplishments does Mayor Pugh run on?

Maple commons should have been affordable housing for individuals who work in Croton!

I.e. the school aides

Just a few clarifications here. Most large studies have not found a correlation between affordable housing and crime rates, you might want to do the research on that. Also, legally this kind of affordable housing, subsidized by state funds, cannot have set asides for any favored group, as a matter of law. Mayor Pugh ran unopposed because no one ran against him. The first contested election in seven years was only last year; Pugh may have opposition in the upcoming November election. In the croton study, there has been an increase in crime.

Now the two individuals were not maple commons or even croton residents. So one could argue there was no correlation:)

Since you mentioned the school aids, what was the outcome of their last meeting with the district? Did I miss the reporting on that?
