Blizzard Warning Issued - Travel Ban Instituted

A blizzard warning has been issued for Croton-on-Hudson and the surrounding areas beginning 1 PM Sunday until 6 PM Monday. Between 16 and 20 inches of snow is currently forecast. Gusty winds up to 55 MPH will also be possible.
Westchester County has instituted a complete travel ban on all roadways beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, February 22, and continuing until 10 a.m. Monday, February 23. Only essential travel (police, fire, ambulance) is permitted.
All village offices at the Municipal Building will be closed tomorrow, February 23, due to the blizzard. If you need assistance, please contact the Village Manager’s office at managersoffice@crotononhudson-ny.gov or 914-271-4848. Messages will be checked frequently.

A state of emergency in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson went into effect as of 6 a.m. Sunday.
Garbage pickup has been cancelled for Monday, February 23, due to the expected impact from the storm. All garbage will be picked up village-wide on Tuesday, February 24.
Weekend parking permits will be valid through Monday, February 23, in lots A, B, C and F of the Croton-Harmon Train Station Parking Lot. Please make time today to relocate your vehicle off-street.
Alternate side parking regulations are suspended for Monday, February 23.
All village parks, open space areas and conservation areas have been closed for Sunday, February 22, and Monday, February 23.
As a reminder, parking is prohibited on all roadways within the Village once two inches of snow has accumulated. Please have all vehicles moved off the street by Sunday morning as snow is expected to fall heavily beginning Sunday afternoon.
Further updates will be provided as warranted through the Everbridge Alert system, the Village website and social media accounts.

I have a big four wheel drive SUV so I am going to drive, crash off the road and put first responders at risk.
Thanks for the post, Michael. There was some confusion posted on social media as to whether the ban was only on County roads. You clarified it and I reposted.
