Two accused Croton burglars appear in our village's newly remodeled courtroom. One stays in jail, the other is released--at least for now.
The cases of Carlos Liriano of the Bronx, accused of robbing at least two Croton houses, and Dale Page of Peekskill, accused of stealing from ShopRite, were heard by Associate Justice Joseph H. Green.
Last Wednesday was a particularly busy day in Croton’s Village Court, presided over on this occasion by Associate Village Justice Joseph H. Green. It was also the second week that proceedings were held in the newly renovated courtroom, on the first floor of Croton’s municipal building.
(Reviews of the renovation were mixed among the lawyers, the court reporter, and Judge Green himself, but we will report on that later.)
The docket included two high-profile criminal cases, one which the Chronicle has been reporting on for several months, and a new case involving alleged thefts last month at our local ShopRite (which recently has been the scene of numerous shoplifting episodes.)
