My husband and I have been residents in Croton for over fifty years. We’ve known Sam Watkins personally and professionally as the Village Court Justice during his 20 years on the bench.
Other Croton citizens also cite his many years on the bench, but experience alone does not simply quality him for another term. It’s a great responsibility for the person who serves in this position.
What qualifies him for another term are the personal character traits he has exhibited as Village Justice over these years: his sensitivity, civility, his good judgment within the context of the law, his flexibility and intelligence, his ability to connect with all citizens, his good nature, and his unwavering respect for all litigants, and of course his knowledge and understanding of the law as it applies to the people who come before him.
This is the Judge Sam Watkins we have experienced over the years of his tenure.
People are anxious standing before the Judge. We’ve seen Sam giving his full attention and listening respectfully to every litigant. Our Village Court Justice appreciates the weighty responsibility of his position of public trust. He represents the face of our village and thereby plays an important role in our community.
The upcoming election is before us. If you know Sam Watkins in the role of Village Court Justice let’s have him retain his position as our Judge.
