GoFundMe for Alex, hit by pickup truck at the Gulf station on May 7, is halfway to its goal. You can help get it all the way.
Just over $10,000 has been raised as of today towards the goal of $20,000 for the severely injured woman. Alex's friends and family are asking for everyone's help.
As many readers will know, on May 7 a well-loved dog walker named Alex was severely injured when a mechanic working at the Gulf station on South Riverside Avenue in Croton accidentally backed a pickup truck into her. The quick thinking of a Good Samaritan, who applied a tourniquet to staunch the bleeding, helped to save her life.
Alex’s friends and family have launched a GoFundMe to help pay her medical and other expenses. Alex has already had several surgeries and is facing still more.
According to the appeal, donations will help to cover the following:
Medical expenses
Rehabilitation
Physical therapy
Other specialized therapies poorly covered by insurance
Necessary modifications to her home to accommodate future mobility needs
Living and childcare expenses
and more
Everyone is being asked to donate and to spread the word via their own networks. If you have not already done so, please click on the GoFundMe page and do what you can.
Thank you.
