Former Croton-on-Hudson firefighter sentenced to five years’ probation for leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
Nicholas Edwards-Ambos pled guilty to the charges last May.
As first reported by Lohud.com, former Croton firefighter Nicholas Edwards-Ambos was sentenced on September 12 to five years’ probation for charges related to leaving the scene of a fatal accident on Route 9 near Senasqua Road. The sentencing came after a plea deal in May in the case, which we reported on at the time.
The accident, which occurred on July 15, 2023, led to the death of Peekskill resident Richard Lent. Lent was driving a motorcycle at the time, at a very high speed according to the police investigation. Edwards-Ambos was not held responsible for the accident itself.
