On Easter Sunday it was announced that Reverend Bette Johnson Sohm, current pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in Croton, has been appointed as the lead pastor to the Sullivan Parish in Sullivan County, NY. Working with Associate Pastors Rev. Joycalyn Jordan (3/4 time) and Rev. Walter Haff (1/2 time), she will be leveraging her extensive experience to lead churches in the following 11 communities: Hurleyville, Jeffersonville, Kenoza Lake, Liberty, Livingston Manor, Mongaup Valley, Monticello, North Branch, Rock Hill, White Sulphur Springs, and Woodridge. This appointment begins July 1, 2025.
Pastor Bette’s last service with Asbury will be Sunday, June 15 at 11:00 am. During church we will honor her service and will host a farewell coffee hour afterwards. All are welcome. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to the church office. (asburycrotonumc@gmail.com)
