Croton police nab burglary suspect at local laundromat. Yonkers man charged.
CPD officers interrupted a burglary in progress Saturday morning at My 3 Suds.
Customers at the ShopRite shopping center might have been surprised early Saturday morning to see police cars in front of the My 3 Suds laundromat and yellow tape stretched around the front of the establishment.
According to CPD Detective Sergeant John Smith, that’s because at 7:28 am officers had arrested Jomar Mercedes of Yonkers and charged him with two counts of Third Degree Burglary.
Smith told us that the owners of the business had spotted the alleged burglar on surveillance cameras and immediately called police.
Mercedes was charged in Croton’s justice court and released on $300 bail. We will be following up with the Westchester County District Attorney’s office and provide more details when we have them.

I was wondering about this. Thanks for coverage. I wonder how one even attempts to burglarize a laundry mat. How about this criminal just apply for a job. Crime doesn’t pay. Thank you.
Thank you for following up. There were so many rumors, we wondered if we'd ever find out the truth. This is pretty disturbing.
