Word comes from Croton Sustainability Committee chair Lindsay Audin that, as promised and predicted, Croton has taken the lead again in the New York State clean energy sweepstakes. That puts our village on top of more than 500 New York villages, towns, and cities competing for top honors.
For more information about this competitive sustainability program, see our earlier report, “Sunday at the Sustainability Committee.” As we explained there, the Clean Energy Community program is run by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), and it’s a big deal: Croton has so far racked up about $600,000 in grant funds as a result of our village’s participation.
