Baked by Susan applies for a wine, beer and cider license. Can muffins & mimosas be far behind?
Croton's award winning bakery wants to expand its range, says owner Susan O’Keefe
Sharp-eyed readers of The Gazette may have noticed a Legal Notice published by Baked By Susan Inc. in this week’s issue, noting that the bakery had applied for a wine, beer and cider license under New York’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Law.
So we called up owner Susan O’Keefe to find out what she had in mind. Susan stressed that nothing was “set in stone,” but that getting the license would allow the establishment to pursue some new ideas.
“We might periodically want to hold dinners or have guitar music on Sundays,” Susan said. Serving alcoholic beverages would make such events more appealing to customers, and they might want to stay longer.
The bakery has held similar events in the past, but without the alcohol. “We are thinking muffins and mimosas and that kind of thing,” she said. “It would be exciting.”
Susan says that, assuming they get the alcohol license, she and her staff will then begin thinking more concretely about what they could do. She promises to keep villagers informed, and we will do our best to keep up with the news as well.
