An update on two major legal cases based in the village of Croton-on-Hudson.
A civil case against the Croton-Harmon school district's anti-harassment policies and a criminal case charging possession of child pornography are working their ways through the federal court system.
Over the past months we have reported on two important cases that affect our local community. The first, filed by the national organization Parents Defending Education (PDE) against the Croton-Harmon school district, was dismissed by a U.S. District Judge last July; that dismissal is now being appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
The second, a child pornography case filed by the FBI against Croton resident Eric Kyu, is still pending, and no open indictment has yet been handed down.
