A village advisory board that operates largely under the radar will advise the Board of Trustees on the "visual environment" of the 1 Half Moon Bay Drive project proposal.

The developers met with the Advisory Board on the Visual Environment on August 13 and said the project would not affect river views or other sight-lines. The board does not currently publish minutes.

On Tuesday evening, August 27, the owners of 1 Half Moon Bay Drive will hold an informational meeting about their proposed 280 unit development at Capriccio’s in the village. While this is not a village sponsored event, the owners were encouraged organize such sessions for the community by the Board at a meeting earlier this year, and the village has posted the event on its Web page.

Although there is only capacity for 30 people at Tuesday’s event, a representative of the owning partners told the Chronicle that they plan to hold more such sessions “if the demand is there.” The announcement states that “refreshments” will be served, although it is not clear if that will include pizza or not. We will pass for the moment on commenting about whether the developers are trying to get to the hearts of Crotonites through their stomachs.

(Indeed, some residents have queried on social media why the event is not being held at a village venue, as were, for example, the informational sessions organized by the developer of Maple Commons.)
