On June 22nd, at Fino’s Restaurant, The Croton Lions Club hosted the two Lions Club scholarship recipients, Ava Kolk with her family and Aaron Lewis with his family. Each student was awarded a check for $3,000.
Aaron will attend Binghamton University in the fall to pursue a degree in business and Ava will attend the College of Charleston to study pre-veterinary medicine. The Lions wish them success as they go forward.
The Lions Club has a long history of awarding scholarships to graduating seniors of the Croton Harmon High School, who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to community service.
The scholarships are awarded in memory of Croton Lions Members who have shown extraordinary examples of volunteerism to the Croton community. To name a few, Gerry Klein, Perry Lipkin, Terri Fiorentino, Joe Rose, George Smalls and Sal Vassallo.
The Croton Lions Club does fundraise events throughout the year, to support scholarships and local charities, with the major fundraiser being held in December, selling Christmas trees.
Come and join the Croton Lions Club, we have fun doing things that help the community.
